Defining Zoophilia with Andrea Beetz

This week’s Defining HAS video series video is by Andrea Beetz, Researcher and Teacher in the Department of Special Education, University of Rostock, who has defined the term zoophilia.

Andrea M. Beetz, psychologist, Ph.D. is a researcher and teacher at the University of Rostock, Germany, Department of Special Education. With over 20 years of research experience on human-animal interactions (HAI) and animal assisted interventions (AAI) she is an expert in the field. The focus of her research is on attachment between humans and animals, positive effects of HAI and AAI, including neurobiology, and animal assisted education. Andrea Beetz has served on the board of many national and international organizations in the field, including the International Society for Anthrozoology (ISAZ) and the International Association of Human-Animal Interaction Organziations (IAHAIO).
