Animal protection advocates are spotlighting the spread of COVID-19 within captive mink populations to (again) call for the ending of fur farming. It appears governments and the fashion industry are heeding that call.

This month’s “Animals and COVID-19” section of the Human-Animal Studies Report investigates the nexus between zoonotic disease emergence, the farming of mink for fur, COVID-19, and public health.

The Report also covers Human-Animal Studies funding and job opportunities; new books, book chapters and journal articles; and call for proposals for conferences and publications.
