Beth Daly

The goal of this course is to encourage students to develop an understanding of the human-animal bond. Within this class, we will explore and consider the different types of relationships between non-human animals and humans in our contemporary society from a variety of physical, social and psychological perspectives. Topics throughout the semester will include companion animals, animal rights and welfare, animals for food, animals in human health, and animals in sports and entertainment.
