Human and Nonhuman Animals: Minds and Morals

ECOM is pleased to announce its a conference at the University of Connecticut, titled “Human and Nonhuman Animals: Minds and Morals”, to be held May 11-13, 2017. The conference will bring together researchers working on continuities and discontinuities in human/nonhuman cognition, emotions, social organization and morally relevant behavior, and implications for the human treatment of nonhuman animals.   
Registration and Visiting UConn:

Registration for this workshop is required, and will open up the month before the conference.

This workshop is open to the public, and ECOM encourages any interested researchers universities to attend.

Regarding travelling to Storrs: UConn is located approximately 45 minutes away from the Bradley International Airport (BDL) and Hartford Union Train Station (HFD). If you are driving, it is located on HWY 195, off of I-84. See the UConn website for directions. The workshop will be held in Laurel Hall 305, located in the center of campus; please view the UConn online map for more details.

Parking near or on campus can be done in a variety of places. One can park for a fee in one of the two on campus parking garages, or in Storrs Center’s parking lot, which is about a 10 minute walk from the conference building. The Storrs Center parking lot is significantly cheaper (2 hours free, $1/hr after, max $8/day) than the campus lots.
